Large varierty of West Coast National Park activitiesThere are plenty of West Coast National Park activities to be enjoyed by visitors in and around the Park. At the Lagoon, summer fun and water sports are top favourites on the activity list. These include great game viewing in the Postberg region of the Park, a variety of water sports on the waters of the lagoon, fishing in peaceful and quiet areas, picnics in secluded spots, observing birdlife from secluded hides or stretching legs, a variety of hiking trails, stunning panoramas from a number of viewpoints or watch the Whales and their calves amuse themselves from Tsaarsbank viewpoint which overlooks the sea. Angling and power boating are not permitted on this area. The list of water sport activities include sailing and sea kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing, power boating, kite surfing and windsurfing. There also a number of local houseboats for hire. And all this within the calm ocean confines of the Lagoon. Animals to look for are wildebeest, springbok, bontebok, kudu, Cape mountain zebra, gemsbok and Eland, to name a few. For visitors from abroad it may be useful to hire a car in Cape Town and explore this beautiful Park and the West Coast with its picturesque coastal villages beyond it on a self-drive basis.
